One afternoon, a journalist Ms Amrita under training at one of the English newspapers complained to one of the senior officer at CID, that she could not find background material on CID West Bengal on internet. She was writing an article about Women and Crime and wanted to ask certain questions to CID officers dealing with that wing. That very day decision was taken to host the website. And what better year than centenary year.

During conceptualization and design process, it was agreed that we will not get it designed by an outside agency, but will design it in house. Idea was if we design it, our people will get sufficient experience in keeping it updated on daily basis. ASI Babar Ali and SI Maharshi Patri worked day and night to make this possible.

To host this site on server we took technical support of a company. We did not select big names but a company which actually started working from a small room. Four boys of siliguri who started this company had only one dream that they would like to be employer rather than work as employee under some one. Mayukh Chakraborty and his colleagues did not disappoint us.

Spirit of enquiry and modern thinking of that probationary journalist Amrita, dedication and hard work of ASI Babar and SI Maharshi Patri and determination to succeed and entrepreneurship of Mayukh & friend is what we celebrate at CID West Bengal along with our fine tradition of 100 years.
